“Oh my god, what has happened to me?” | “Why did he/she behave with me like this?” |
“Today, she told me I am fatty and looking ugly?” | “Why does not my mother-in-law get satisfied with my work?” |
“I left my career for my kids, but now they are busy in their stuffs, they forgot me!” | “What should I do with my husband ‘s anger?” |
“My boss told me to come early in the office, but I have my child’s PTM at school, how will I manage?” | “I got late for my home now, how will I reach? It’s too dark.” |
Mostly, such kind of thoughts are running through a woman’s daily life about Kids, in-laws, job, households etc.
Hush!!!
& In that, we can say, some thoughts are crafted, baseless and without any evidence! Just the result of overthinking.
There is no significant difference between the number of men and women who experience a mental health problem overall, but some problems are more common in women than in men.
Statistic says, 25% people who die with suicide, are women.
Women, who are emotional but literate enough to share and talk about their feelings and sentiments, may have less chance of suicidal thoughts. Also, being a mother, it makes them less likely to end their own life.
Women are majorly exposed in society which causes poor mental health in them. They have different roles, responsibilities and statuses which are major factors for the same. There are some significant traditional roles which increase or create the risk of mental health issues.
Some social aspects that effect Women’s Mental Health:
- More women than men, are the main care taker of children as well as of dependent relatives. Intensive caring can affect emotional health, physically health, social activities and finance.
- Women play multiple roles such as Mother, Care taker, Wife, Daughter-in-law. The working women have their office responsibilities. Sometimes these all will create chaos in mind with multiple thoughts.
- Physical or Sexual abuse to girls or women, in long term, may create more traumatic stress when they will not get any support from nearer or society.
- Women have to adjust with finance, surroundings, environmental factors. Sometimes it may lead to isolation.
- Sometimes women earn less or opt for low status jobs or mostly prefer part time jobs and in most cases they need to leave their job for family.
Sometimes, Women don’t have much proficiency to handle their emotions in delicate incidents. We are evident that women are always ignoring their Physical Health, so it is doubtlessly difficult to focus on Mental Health.

“If we start being honest about our pain, our anger, and our shortcomings instead of pretending they don’t exist, then maybe we’ll leave the world a better place than we found it.”
