These types of conversations we hear in our day to day life. At some point in our lives, we all come across someone who causes a lot of problems in our lives. They may stir up trouble and be the reason behind some conflicts. These people are actually toxic individuals, based on the behaviors they exhibit.

So, what is toxic behavior?

Toxic behavior refers to a person whose behavior and ongoing actions cause harm to the other people mentally as well as physically. These are people who spread negativity or stress or traumatic situations. to the other ‘s life.

Traits of Toxic Behaviors

Here are some toxic behavior traits with the help of it can find out toxic behavior patterns in other people.

  • Toxic people are manipulative. They are self – centered. They use other people for their own agendas or benefits.
  • Toxic people are more judgmental towards other people. They critise you infront of others, They always point out your flaws and try to keep you down than them.
  • They need perfection though they don’t have insight about their own behavior.
  • They have anger issues and they blame for it to others like because of them they are getting anger.
  • They don’t apologize. They have belief that they never go wrong. They feel they are always right for their own behavior.Always blame others for their own mistakes.
  • They never keep their words. They are inconsistent in all the way like their behavior, attitude and their perspectives.

Dealing with Toxic people:-

    Be blunt :-

    Sometimes we are ok when toxic people throw negative situations or negativity our way. Be blunt! When you feel a person is harmful to you and your mental peace. Speak up in front of them and let them know that you are not going to entertain their behavior any more.If you will speak up then they will get to know that they can’t manipulate you.

    Set Boundries:-

    If you can’t get rid of a toxic person, set stricter boundaries and make sure the toxic person never crosses those boundaries. Stay calm and communicate your boundaries. Boundaries make our expectations clear, so others know what to expect from us and how we want to be treated.

    Confront them for their behavior:-

    Whenever you will feel that your words are no longer serving that time confront them. Ask them about their behavior towards you. Don’t agree if you are disagree with any of their statements or decisions.

    Make yourself priority:-

    Being a toxic or abusive, a person can show their other behavior ,which can also be toxic. So as an individual they also need some emotional support or desperately they need your help to get out from traumatic event. Before giving your support first make sure you don’t get emotionally drained out in the process. And whenever you feel to draining out emotionally ,physically or any way keep yourself first on that time.

    Learn to say NO

    We are often very hesitant when it comes to saying no. It’s mostly not about self-esteem or confidence, some of us have this innate desire to go above and beyond for loved ones. For a toxic person, this can be an opportunity for exploitation.

    For such people sticking to refusal can be hard because they might guilt trip you into doing what they want but you should stay firm and stand your ground. If you are not okay with something, bluntly say “no!!”.

    It may be challenging at first, especially when the toxic person will throw a dramatic tantrum to try to get their way. But the more you practice saying “no” to things you aren’t comfortable with, the easier it becomes.

    These toxic persons you can find everywhere like, in relationship, workplace, family.

    Don’t expect the person to change.

      You create more space in your life when you turn your excess baggage to garbage.
